Before photographing your subject, take time to think about where you will shoot it from. Our viewpoint has a massive impact on the composition of our photo, and as a result it can greatly affect the message that the shot conveys. Rather than just shooting from eye level, consider photographing from high above, down at ground level, from the side, from the back, from a long way away, from very close up, and so on.
For this photo i wanted to capture the Eiffel tower with an element in the foreground. From my positioning at street level I could not see the base of the tower. So I went to higher ground and placed the Eiffel tower on the left and the statue on the right.
I then wanted to create a natural element to frame the photo and used the blue light to join the tower and the foreground statue and give the human eye a natural way to pass through the image.
